Water after every heavy rain
Seepage that tracks the weather is a drainage problem — water is being delivered to the foundation faster than the ground can take it away.
Efflorescence and damp walls
White chalky deposits and persistent dampness mean water is moving through the block even when you never see standing water.
Musty smell or mold
A basement that smells musty is holding moisture continuously, and that moisture is being pulled up into the living space above.
What we do about it
Sometimes the fix is outside and inexpensive: regrading, extending downspouts, correcting a drainage path that dumps against the foundation. Sometimes it is a full interior drain tile system and a pump. We tell you which one you are looking at during the free inspection, including when the answer is the cheap one.
Interior drain tile
Perforated pipe set in gravel at the footing, routed to a sump. Intercepts water before it reaches the floor.
Exterior waterproofing
Excavation, membrane, and footing drainage on the outside — the more involved route, and the correct one when the wall itself is the entry point.
Sump pump systems
Correctly sized pump, sealed basin, check valve, and a discharge line that puts the water somewhere it will not come straight back.
Grading and downspouts
The least expensive fix, and often a real one. If the ground slopes toward the house, that gets corrected first.

Common questions
Interior or exterior waterproofing — which is better?
Interior systems manage water that reaches the foundation. Exterior systems stop it reaching the wall at all. Exterior is more thorough and more expensive because it requires excavation. Which one you need depends on where water is entering, which is what the inspection determines.
How much does basement waterproofing cost in Knoxville?
A regrading and downspout correction is a modest job. A full interior system with a pump is a significantly larger one. You get a written number for your basement after the free inspection.
Will a sump pump fix my wet basement?
Only if water is reaching the floor or the footing. If it is coming through the wall above the footing, a pump never sees it. This is the most common mismatch we are called out to correct.
Do you handle the mold?
We address moisture remediation as part of the work. Persistent mold is a moisture problem, and it returns unless the water is dealt with.
